Any of you P71/Crown Vic guys know anything about the spotlights on them?
My car had a very crusty/nasty bulb in it. I went to clean it and it just fell apart inside the spotlight housing. So I have removed my spotlight housing/bulb while trying to find an affordable replacement.

<— is what I found. I believe this is a suitable replacement, and allows me to be able to easily replace a bulb instead of the whole sealed unit like previously installed.
Anyone think it’ll work? From what I can find CVPI’s have a 6 inch spotlight. I haven’t measured mine to confirm it or not, but I will to just make sure.
If it won’t work, I’ll take a suggestion on a replacement that doesn’t involve emptying my wallet. Even if I have to go to a sealed beam housing.
Not mine

100W PAR46 bulb is typical. Incandescent
is relatively cheap but not rated for a lot of
hours (but how often does it get used? I changed the bulb in mind almost
4 years ago
and it’s still fine on the rare occasion I turn it on
). Can probably get halogen for more money.

Honestly for me, I’d probably use it a fair amount. I’d use it as a work light when I’m working on my big trailer when it gets dark.
I found a suitable LED upgrade for 35 bucks. Going to try it and wire it in and see how it does.

Hope the one you got works out. I’ve owned a bunch of CVPIs but have never had a spotlight...I didn’t realize how pricy the Unity units were until I just searched. Other thoughts would be just to post on the forums (since a lot of guys remove them) or talk to a local department and see if they’re selling any of their old kit. At the end of the day it’s just a 12v light, so I’m sure Tractor Supply or Harbor Freight has something, too.
